These patches represent Holland's unique but diverse career.
Rather than recite detailed facts and figures on Holland, we encourage you to go to TenderTale.comfor a more in-depth look at her, including some excellent vintage photos. As as you peruse the site, please keep one thing in mind; as interesting as facts, figures and photos may be,they are not the heart and soul of a ship--those lie in the hearts and memoriesof her officers and crew.
All of us who attended Holland's first two reunions--Corpus Christi, Texas in 2004 and Charleston,South Carolina in 2005--know how deep those memories can run. There were a lot of smilesand laughter as we reminisced about the good times and even a few of the bad times, which were quickly swept aside as we remembered how much we enjoyed thecamaraderie and talking with old friends, making new friends andlearning more about shipmates and ship.We would be totally remiss if we did not recognize the contributions the US Marine Corps Detachmentmade to Holland's security and success and encourage all Marines who served aboard Holland
to consider this site as your own--Semper Fi.The following links include a few photos from each reunion, see if you recognize anyone!
